World Hepatitis Day takes place on May 19, the first day of National Hepatitis Awareness Week, which runs May 19 to May 26. Together with over 200 patient groups from around the world, Hepatitis Australia and state and territory councils are working to bring about the first truly global awareness event for chronic viral hepatitis B and C. World Hepatitis Day focuses on raising awareness of viral hepatitis in a coordinated global campaign, and the activities and events will continue throughout the week as we continue our tradition of a National Hepatitis Awareness Week. Several exciting activities are already planned for the week, while Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), the global humanitarian aid agency, has officially confirmed its support for the World Hepatitis Day campaign.
